WHAT DO YOU NEED FROM ME TO CREATE MY DESIGN?
To get started, I will have you complete a detailed questionnaire about your property and your wishes for it. If you have any inspiration photos or a pintrest board, those prove to be very helpful! Any copies of the plat of your property or elevation renderings are great, but if you don't have them, I can use the magic of satellite images to get started.
DO YOU HAVE A MAXIMUM SIZE PROPERTY THAT YOU WORK WITH?
The majority of the design work that I do is for smaller properties - usually 1 acre or less. However, if you are looking for something for a property larger than that, reach out to me and we can discuss what you are looking for and create a custom design package!
HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS TAKE FROM THE TIME I HIRE YOU TO THE TIME I HAVE MY FINAL DESIGN?
Turnaround time from start to finish is typically about 3 weeks. That time can vary based on how long the client takes to review the initial design and submit any change requests.
HOW MANY REVISIONS DOES EACH PACKAGE INCLUDE?
Each package includes the opportunity to make 2 rounds of revisions. Beyond that, you can purchase additional rounds of revisions at $100/round.
DO YOU USE TEMPLATES FOR YOUR DESIGNS?
No! Each design that I create is custom to the client's property and geared towards their needs for functionality and aesthetics.
WILL YOU SELECT PLANTS SPECIFICALLY FOR MY PLANTING ZONE?
Absolutely. Careful consideration goes into plant selection when designing. I will design based on what planting zone you are in and what will do well there with the temperature and estimated soil conditions. I strive to give several options for each plant so that if something is not readily available to you, that you have a comparable substitute to choose from. However, I encourage you to talk to your local nursery or the contractor performing the installation to confirm which of those they know to work best for your specific area.
WHY SHOULD I HIRE YOU TO DESIGN MY LANDSCAPE?
Great question! I have been designing landscapes and outdoor living spaces for over 10 years and I can truly say I LOVE my job. I enjoy the challenge of starting from scratch with each design and being able to bring a client's vision to life for them. I own and operate an outdoor living space company in Nashville, TN and while many designers design and pass their designs off to a contractor to install, I am involved from conception of design all the way through the installation process. As a designer, that allows me to create a design that will be easily implemented by a contractor because I carefully think through potential challenges (drainage issues, grading, location of utilities, etc.) that they may face during installation, and I design to try to avoid those potential pitfalls (when identified by the client) which will save the client time and money in the long run.
